2 wordpress installs, competing
-
Hi all, probably did something really stupid.
The original blog was a sub-part of a main site, so it was in a folder named ‘blog’: http://www.mandyleigh.com/blog/
Been using that for ages, when I needed to re-design the site, and thought that it would probably be better if the blog were jazzed up and moved to the root of the site. So, Dreamhost’s quick install created another WordPress at http://www.mandyleigh.com, and I elected for it to use the same database that was already set up for http://www.mandyleigh.com/blog/ .
Now, I wanted to delete everything in http://www.mandyleigh.com/blog/ but am scared to, as it seems the /blog/ part still has influence over the new install (as it’s on the original database I guess).
Just did a test. A post I wrote in the old install appeared in both blogs. A post I wrote in the new install appeared in both blogs. So it seems whichever I use, they both work.
My question is: Can I safely delete the old folder, and the WP install will still work? I think I might just rename the folder later on and see.

This is the support forum for wordpress.com users. You need to post this in the support forum for the standalone version on wordpress.org
