2012 theme images

I am customizing the 2012 theme images for my blog. At blog, home, etc.. pages, I changed the featured image. However, I haven’t been able to change the default image that comes with the theme on these pages. Why not? How do I do this?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    Hi,

I see that the site https://mawilliamsonstarks.wordpress.com/ presently has the Edin theme applied.

Regarding featured images with the Twenty Twelve theme applied:
Featured Images set on static pages on the Twenty Twelve theme will not be displayed. The Quick Specs section of the Twenty Twelve theme guide indicates that featured images are displayed on posts with the “standard” post format assigned to them, and not to other posts. My tests indicate that they will also be displayed on the blog page and archives pages, but suggest that in each case they only appear on posts with the “standard” post format assigned.

However, I haven’t been able to change the default image that comes with the theme on these pages. Why not? How do I do this?

My guess would be that you may be referring to the default site header image. This can be removed or replaced with a custom header image as described in the Custom Header Images support page. On this theme, setting a featured image on a page or post will have no effect upon the site header image.
