2014 as a website no images in sidebar

  Hi
  I have created a couple of galleries based on the “learn wordpress” help however the photos do not show up anywhere on the website, I can’t even get anything to show up on the right side of the front page, not sure if this is due to me using the front page as a static page rather than a blog type set up. I paid for this theme because I thought paying would allow for more features not sure this is true though. I hope that someone can assist.

  I don’t see a gallery you’ve tried to install on your site, but if you have any links to posts/pages you’d like me to take a look at, please let me know.

  If you haven’t gotten as far as adding a gallery to a page or post, take a look at this document. It will step you through the process:
  en.support.wordpress.com/images/gallery/

  If you were hoping to add a gallery to your sidebar, here are the instructions:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/gallery-widget/

  If you want to add individual images to your sidebar, take a look at these steps:
  http://en.support.wordpress.com/widgets/image-widget/

  So you are aware, your theme, Twenty Fourteen, is a free theme. What you actually purchased was the Premium upgrade which give you many features as explained here:
  http://store.wordpress.com/plans/premium/

  I hope this gives you a start. Once you have a gallery or images installed, even if they’re not functioning properly, you can let me know and I’ll help you further. Thanks very much!

  Thanks for you information and links, what I don’t understand is that I have followed the steps (several times now) that are set out in the gallery widget and still no images appear. It is made to sound very easy and straight forward but I am not finding it to be that.

  I will try yet again and see what happens.
