2014 Summary Posts Not Working?
-
Hi there I am using 2014 and have selected to have a summary of posts displayed on the main page – however the blog continues to display all of each post. Is there something I am doing wrong or is a problem with this theme?
Also is it possible to duplicate a blog so that it is possible to change themes without losing all widgets etc each time?
thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there!

The Summary setting for Twenty Fourteen only applies to your archive pages (like those created when you add pages to a category), and your Feed (which impacts the manner in which your posts are displayed in your Followers’ email notifications.
If you want summaries of your posts to appear on your front page, you should use the Read More tag. For details, see below:

Because of the way different theme developers create their themes, sometimes the widget disappear when you adjust your site’s theme. There isn’t a way around this. A duplicate site wouldn’t help much in this regard, but creating screenshots would. If you open your widgets in the Widget page, and snap screenshots, you’ll have easy references to go back to if you need to re-add those Widgets to a new site.
Here is information about making a screenshot.
If you need further assistance with this, please do let me know! Thanks so much.
