2017 theme not working properly in mobile view

  I have two WordPress sites using the 2017 theme. Yesterday the MENU stopped functioning on both in Mobile view. SUPPORT offers no help with this and asks me to change theme. Does this mean no-one at WordPress is dealing with bugs to anything but their latest themes? Do we have to change every year now?

  After spending four hours changing the theme to 2023, which is nowhere close to easy or straightforward as WP would like you to believe (it’s an awful theme too), someone rang me to say the sites are now working again on the 2017 theme. A relief as it is the only theme to have the word MENU under that stupid hamburger logo. Not happy with WP Support at all.
