2020 Theme

Is there a way to change the width of the text? It looks awful how it is. Also, the medium size text is smaller than the small size text. This has to be an error!

Hi,
On the Twenty Twenty theme, the available font options may be found at Customize > Fonts. Only font and the size may be changed there on both the Headings and Base Font options.
Also, the medium size text is smaller than the small size text.
In my tests on the Twenty Twenty theme I found the following unexpected results:
1. At Customize > Fonts > Headings, the size option “Normal,” which comes between “Small” and “Large” in the menu, produces a text size that is larger than both “Large” and “Huge.”
2. At Customize > Fonts > Base Font, the size option “Small” which comes between “Tiny” and “Normal” in the menu, produces a text size that is larger than the “Normal” option. It appears that the results produced by the options “Small” and “Normal” might be inadvertently reversed.
I’ll call for staff attention regarding the above observed results. Staff will respond here.

That may be true, but it doesn’t explain why on the free plan the font size options work, but not accurately in all cases. I just tested the font size options again on 2020 and obtained the same results that I reported above. I still find the following odd results:
1. at Fonts > Headings, the option “Normal” produces the largest text size, much larger than “Large” and slightly larger than “Huge.”
2. at Fonts > Base Font, the option “Small” produces text that is larger than that produced by the “Normal” option, whereas in the menu “Small” comes between “Tiny” and “Normal.”

Like over at https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/20-17-theme/#post-3415576 I’m also not seeing this as described on Twenty Twenty.
I suppose something could be getting in the way of the web font loading.
Have you checked with browser extensions off?
If so, what browser (and version of) are you using?

I’m able to replicate the weirdness with the “Small” font size for base text being bigger than “Normal”, and “Normal” being bigger than either “Large” or “Huge” for headings.
It seems there is already a bug report about weirdness with custom fonts for this theme, so I’ve added these details there.
Also a correction – custom fonts are available on the free plan with a selection of free Google fonts. The Premium Plan only adds additional fonts from Typekit to the existing selection.
