2020 wordpress theme

Hi I seem to have issues with this theme not displaying correctly in the mobile mode. On pages where there are several of the same design blocks (as per the original template, i did not change anything) some blocks show correctly in the mobile mode, adjusting to the smaller screen size by showing the image blocks above the relevant text blocks, but the other same size blocks show in same format as the PC version with image blocks to the left and text to the RHS? It is most strange and when I check the settings i cannot see any difference between the panels that display differently.

Another issue I am struggling with is the PC version background colour for this template is white but when viewed on mobile version it is only white at the top and bottom of the page, the rest is a shade of magnolia?? I tried setting the background colour to white in the different blocks but this does not change the background colour to white in mobile version? Why this is happening?

    Thanks for the help!

What is the URL of your site?

  • @sketchportraitstudio, if I’m understanding you correctly, the shifts you’re mentioning are intentional.

I’d recommend testing this by resizing your browser window. You’ll encounter a few “break points” where text that was to the side will line up under an image, for example. We do instead of taking the desktop version and resizing it, because we don’t want the images or text to get so small that your readers can’t clearly see them.

If you’re running into something that looks like a bug (like if the text overlaps an image where it shouldn’t) please get a screenshot and upload it to https://wordpress.com/media so we can take a look. Then update us here.

    Hi Supermovia

Thanks for your reply. It seems like a bug since 2 blocks of exactly the same specifications are showing in 2 different ways on the mobile version (mobile version means my actual mobile phone)

I dont tend to take too much notice of the “mobile preview” images, rather I check how it looks on the actual mobile phone. One block displays exactly as expected and the other block is all messed-up. Text runs down the screen with just one or 2 words per line, anyway I am attaching some images to show the correct block type and the errant one. It happens only on the ABOUT US page.

    Thanks

  • Edit your About page, and select the Our Mission media and text block. Click the “Stack on mobile” toggle in the block settings:

I know it’s not switched on for the Our History block either, but checking the HTML markup the second block does have the HTML class it gets when that setting is switched on, so the problem there is the setting in the sidebar not appearing correctly.

To be on the safe side, make sure you toggle that on for that block as well.

    Hi Kokkieh

That worked like a dream thank you.!

The second issue was the one about the background colour on the mobile version of the site. On PC version the background is all lovely and white everywhere but on mobile version I have magnolia on most of the body of the pages, top and bottom of page is white. How do i correct this please?

    Thanks

    ROB

  • Hi Rob.

The background on the mobile and on the browser version is exactly the same. If you see a slight difference in color it is most probably due to the screen of your mobile device. It may not be displaying white as pure white.

    Thanks Fresatomica

It was showing white in top sections of my device and magnolia everywhere else but when i took screenshots to opost to you the screenshots were all perfectly white so it must be issue with my device.

Thanks again. Am closing this ticket!
