$25 plugin usage

    Hey I just came back to WP after about 11 years. I was so excited to work on a few sites but just realised that plugin usage is no longer free. Is there any work around this? I am in the early stages of my career and simply wanted to build up my portfolio, $25 is too steep for me.

    Hello there,

    First off, it’s great to hear you’re back with WordPress.com hosting to build your site. Installing plugins on WordPress.com hosting is available with plans like the Business plan or higher.

    Could you share which feature you’re trying to access by installing plugins? The reason I ask is that building a portfolio site typically doesn’t require plugins. We even have a dedicated guide on how to create a portfolio site using built-in features without needing any plugins: How to Create a Portfolio Site. In this case, a plan like Premium should be sufficient.

    So, unless you need a specific feature that isn’t built into WordPress.com, you likely won’t need to install plugins.
