2FA removal support
-
Hi,
I can’t believe I had to create another account for this, but here goes. So I created my WordPress and subsequently Gravatar accounts years ago, I’m talking just after I left school. I enabled 2FA and now I’m unable to get access to my account. I still have access to my original email I signed up with as I still use it to this day.
When I go to recover account page, it wants either a 2FA code, a transaction ID or recovery codes. I have none of those, since I clear out my emails that are older than 5 years. When I fill in the rest of the details, it tells my I need to reset my password since I still have access to my email address. This puts me in a loop where I still need my 2FA codes (which I obviously don’t have) after resetting my password. Incredibly frustrating.
how do I get in contact with someone from WordPress that can help me get back into my account so that so many public sites can stop using my old gravatar profile picture the moment I sign up. I just want access back into my account using my same old email address I always had. I literally just need the 2FA step removed from my account so I can log back in.
Thank you

Hi there!
I’m sorry to hear that you are having trouble accessing the account because of 2FA issues. Let’s get this sorted for you.
I still have access to my original email I signed up with as I still use it to this day.
Can you please write to us from that email address? And then we’ll discuss with you the next steps for recovery.

Hi, thanks for getting back to me. How do I write to you? Like to an email address? Because I can’t login here with that email address because of the 2FA issue and I can’t find any support email addresses?
Thanks!
