“There are 1 user(s) who can publish but do not have 2FA enabled. 2FA will be forced for these users from April 7, 2017”.
I got this message form wordpress” I know what 2FA means. But why should it be forced on me? And can you just explain how it works?
Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I’m got the same message today. I don’t know why something I know NOTHING ABOUT should be forced on me. How about explaining what it is and why I should use it!

Another corpo-surprise forced on users (last year google destroyed panoramio.com), I expect the worst. Unless they enable to log in without mobile smartphone (using desktop app) I’ll be leaving wordpress. The one month notice period is ridiculous.

There is a main thread about this issue here:

2FA means two Factor Authentication. It is used to tighten the security of a website so that hackers won’t have access. I just dont know how it works. That is what I’m asking now. But I guess a code or something would be sent to your phone when trying to log in to your website. Bla bla bla….

Phew! One WordPress staff, Ethis, just said the message was a “glitch” and has been corrected. I don’t have to use the 2FA by force. It’s optional! Can I shout hurray?
