Does such a beast exist?

I like Andreas-09 (left and right sidebar), but it has no support for custom header.

I don’t know which of those criteria matter most to you, but in Design-themes you can filter for columns, flexible width or custom header.

In some cases, you can also customize some aspects of the header with the custom CSS upgrade, even if the theme does not provide custom header support.

Do you, or anybody else, know if it is possible to customize the header (insert image) for the Andreas09-theme with the CSS upgrade?

Want to be sure before I spend the money… :-)

You can play with the CSS before buying the upgrade, so you can test it out as much as you want to.

I just took a glance at the HTML structure generated by the Andreas09 theme, and I’m not seeing anything immediately that would prevent a CSS solution; you’ll need to play with the background property for some of the elements in order to do what you’ve asked about.
