3 items I need help with…

    1. First, my home slider is supposed to be full width and under the name of my shop, however it is a tiny little thumbnail on the top left of the screen now. 2. I have my product categories on my home page but I want them to be pictures that people click on and go directly to the category with those products. How do I do that? I have asked several people and no one can seem to tell me. 3. When I put my domain in the URL bar (www.gimmegiftshop.com) I go to my old shopify store. I never even set that up. I signed up for a free trial and closed it the same day. When will my domain be linked to my wordpress site? All in all, I am very frustrated at this time.

    Hello!

    When I pull up the domain gimmegiftshop.com, I can confirm it shows a parked Shopify page for me as well. Taking a deeper look, it appears the CNAME of your domain is set to gimme-gift-shop.myshopify.com . You’ll want to get in touch with your host to remove the CNAME pointing to shopify.

    You can then work on updating the DNS settings to point to your WordPress site by mapping the domain you already own. If you haven’t done that yet, you can find instructions on how to do that here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/

    Would you be able to post the URL of your WordPress site (ex–gimmegiftshop.wordpress.com)? Knowing this will allow us to help you with items #1 and #2. This is assuming you are indeed working with a WordPress.com site versus a self hosted WordPress site. You can learn the difference between the two here.
