3 or none?
-
Ok this is an odd one. I’m deleting a lot of the posts on my site in preparation to repurpose it. Eventually, the static front page will go and be replaced with the most recent posts, but I’m only just getting started with this. I made one post today and then under related, there were 3 posts. Of those, I deleted one, then another one came up in its spot and I deleted that one. Now however, there is no related section under that post at all anymore. What’s going on?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hello,
I’m seeing the related posts section on the post you put up today: https://cloudup.com/clALn4nzCaKIf you reach a point where you have fewer than 10 posts, then the related posts will not appear.

There appears to be a bug with the way IE displays things. I’m having a couple issues related to this,
1. Sometimes, the page will be displayed as if I had not deleted the previous post even when I have. Logging out, closing the browser and logging back in fixes this.
2. Related posts doesn’t always show, this requires a restart of the computer to resolve, I already tried simply restarting the browser, even going so far as shutting down the screen reader I use which also uses a browser plugin. Using the other screen reader didn’t fix it, but shutting the computer down last night and restarting this morning seems to have done the trick for the time being. -
Ok, I’ve been out of the browser for some time but haven’t restarted the computer and now it’s showing related again.

Hi theradiocrytic, is everything showing up as expected now? It sounds like it’s working on your end now, but if you’re continuing to have trouble with it please let me know.

Hi Rachel,
I’ll look into it. It looks to me like the first time I visit the site after about an hour or so it works correctly. I’m not sure exactly what the time is, but I tried it without restarting my computer but having been away from the site for an hour or so and it worked. I deleted one of the posts showing as related under my most recent post, then returned to the post to see what the next one was it came up with. When I did so however, no related posts were showing at all. I’ll check again this morning, but if you don’t hear from me otherwise assume this behavior is still happening. -
Ok it looks like it’ll take a while for this to be duplicated again, as now the latest post is showing all posts I’m considering keeping. I’ll let you know if I can get this to come up again.
-
Ok, it’s happening on this post. https://theradiocrytic.wordpress.com/2010/11/19/some-steps-from-my-journal/ I deleted one of the posts it said were related and now no related posts show.
-
Thanks for that explanation and additional details. When you delete the related posts listed for any particular post, it may take some time for new related posts to populate for that post. I double checked your post https://theradiocrytic.wordpress.com/2010/11/19/some-steps-from-my-journal/ in multiple browsers, and the related posts section is currently appearing for me with related posts in it.
If you have trouble with that section disappearing even when you haven’t deleted any posts, or if it doesn’t reappear even after a wait, please let me know!
-
That makes sense, but why does the section completely disappear when I only delete one post? If one of the posts is deleted, then only one is gone, so why doesn’t it show just the two posts that are still there until it finds a related post?
