3 questions re. my new site … usstrings.wordpress.com
-
I am not sure that I have entered all the information and content properly on each page and each post. So, I have no way of knowing if the ‘LOUROUS’ (?) theme has been applied.
Also, I have copied the site address, yet when I go there – there is no way to get from page to page / post to post; cannot navigate the site.
Is there an ‘index’ somewhere?
Thank you for your advice …

Toujours is the theme on your site https://wordpress.com/themes/toujours/ and that page is where the set up instructions are found.
This is the live demo page link https://toujoursdemo.wordpress.com/ -
TT … I don’t see how people can navigate on my site ( usstrings.wordpress.com ) from page to page or post to post – there are no arrows or ‘previous’ or ‘next’ words at the bottom of the page.
How does this work? Thank you for your help.

Hi there,
At the moment you have a static page set as your site’s front page, but you have no posts page set up, and no menu to allow people to reach your posts or other pages.
First, create a new page for your blog posts. Leave it blank, save for a title, and publish. Then go to the Customizer. Click on My Sites, then click the Customize button next to Themes. Click on Static Front Page, and under Posts Page, select the new page you just created. Then save.
Set a Static “Home” Page (Front Page)
Next click the back arrow and then click on Menus ->Primary. Tick the box next to Primary Menu, then click Add Items and make sure your other pages, including the new posts page, are added to your menu. Don’t add your posts to the menu, only the Pages. Save, and the menu should be live on your site.

I thought I did everything you asked – and everything that was in the support video. But … it’s not happening.
The actual posts don’t appear on the top (first) page.
There are no arrows, etc. at the bottom of any page to go from page to page.
Ps. Thanks. I KNOW we’re close to getting it ….
There are no previous post teasers at the bottom of the page

They do for me. Your front page is now showing posts, with the most recent one, https://usstrings.wordpress.com/2017/02/19/mark-knopfler-virtuoso-or-genuine-man-in-black-bluesmaster/, right at the top. Did you figure this out after replying?

Pages don’t show that, as pages are independent bits of content that live in your site’s menu. Pages are not otherwise linked to each other and don’t exist in any particular order on your site.
If you click on and individual POST on the front page, you’ll see Previous and Next links right at the bottom of the single post view, above the comments box.

Those also only appear on Posts, not on Pages, and I can see them if I view an individual post like at the link above.

Neither the previous/next links nor the featured posts section show on the front page that lists all your posts.
