3 weeks of UNRESOLVED mixup

    I need help with issues posted on the above link, which I posted as private….can anyone lend insight into this problem?

    Let’s see if I can explain this. I own a domain name via Go Daddy, and I directed the nameservers to WordPress so I could use the domain http://www.wendygroomes.com rather than wendygroomes.wordpress.com.

    Now I want to direct wendygroomes.com to a different wordpress blog, theintegratedheart.wordpress.com, but don’t know how to do it. I spoke with Go Daddy and they suggested I redirect the nameservers back to them, and forward and mask theintegratedheart.wordpress so all searches for wendygroomes.com will go the desired blog but look like wendygroomes.com.

    Great I understand it all, but it doesn’t seem to work. The first blog, wendygroomes.wordpress.com under domains says wendygroomes.com is active and that a renewal is coming up in December, even though I changed the domain from customize to standard.

    Did I buy wendygroomes.com from WordPress? I already own it via Go Daddy.

    Can you help?

    Okay the re-direct works, and still wondering about renewal on wendygroomes.wordpress.com.

    I don’t want to renew it.

    Hi Wendy,

    I’m glad you have the redirect working. Unfortunately, GoDaddy’s suggestion may work, but it’s going to cause some other issues with your blogs and domains, such as not being able to log into the dashboard properly.

    I can move the domain mapping for wendygroomes.com to your blog theintegratedheart.wordpress.com. However, you will need to change the name servers back to WordPress.com name servers: NS1.WORDPRESS.COM NS2.WORDPRESS.COM NS3.WORDPRESS.COM

    Once that is done, let me know and I can transfer the domain mapping upgrade from wendygroomes.wordpress.com to theintegratedheart.wordpress.com.

    Just to clarify about your domain ownership. You do own your domain wendygroomes.com and you registered it with GoDaddy. However, in order to have the domain work at WordPress.com you paid for the Domain Mapping upgrade, which costs $13/year, in order to change your blog’s address from wendygroomes.wordpress.com to wendygroomes.com.

    The renewal fee at WordPress.com is just for the domain mapping, not the domain itself. You renew the domain itself with GoDaddy. You will need to renew the domain mapping upgrade for your domain to continue to work properly with your site at WordPress.com.

    Let me know if that helps explain things.

    Thanks DA Betts. The clarification helps immensely. There are so many things to manage nowadays I totally forgot what I had done.

    I have redirected the name servers back to Word Press. I will wait to hear from you that the domain mapping transfer has been done, as you mentioned above.

    Did you want to add theintegratedheart.com as well? If so you can do that on the same page. Then you can choose which one you’d like to use for the primary domain.

    Hi Supernovia – I’m feeling quite frustrated about the confusion.

    My original email above asked for theintegratedheart.wordpress.com to be linked with wendygroomes.com, not HEARTANDSOULCOACHING.wordpress.COM or whatever its domain is (I can’t see it because it is masked with wendygroomes.wordpress.com).

    I don’t want to add any additional blogs, just want the correct one linked to wendygroomes.com.

    I’m not sure I can explain it any better, other than what I asked in the original email dated Sept 21.

    Please let me know if I can assist in any way. I really need access to the blog so I can have it ready.

    Wendy, we made theintegratedheart.wordpress.com work with wendygroomes.com days ago. And http://wendygroomes.wordpress.com/ does not redirect at all.

    Where are you seeing this other site?

    Well unfortunately something is not right. I can no longer access theintegratedheart, only wendygroomes.wordpress.com. Whatever was done needs to be undone, PLEASE so we can get this worked out.

    Wendygroomes.com and wendygroomes.wordpress.com are currently going to one of my wordpress sites titled Heart & Soul Coaching which is not where I want wendygroomes.com going.

    It needs to be linked to theintegratedheart.com. Only you all can see what is going on, since I can’t do the directing of wendygroomes.com from here.

    Is there a phone number I can call so we can figure this out over the phone? or If there is something I need to do to help facilitate this, redirect whatever please let me know.

    Wendy, I do follow and that’s what I’ve done for you. Here’s what I see:

    http://theintegratedheart.com does not work at all right now. It’s showing me a godaddy parked domain page. Where do you want that to go?

    http://wendygroomes.com brings up theintegratedheart.wordpress.com — you can tell if you go to wendygroomes.com/wp-admin .

    http://wendygroomes.wordpress.com/ does not have its own domain now. It brings up Heart & Soul Coaching

    ^^ This is what I’m seeing. So even if that’s not what you’re seeing, is that what you’re after?

    If that is what you want, but it’s just not what you’re seeing, can you try restarting your computer?

    If it is not what you want, please let me know which domain needs to point to which site. Thanks.

    I want theintegratedheart site linked to wendygroomes.com so if a client searches for wendygroomes.com they will be directed to theintegratedheart, masked as wendygroomes.com

    Right now when I type theintegratedheart.wordpress.com it brings up the Heart & Soul Coaching, which is not right.

    I have rebooted my computer numerous times. I will delete the cookies and see if that makes a difference.

    I did go to wendygroomes.com/wp-admin and it goes to the Heart & Soul Coaching which is wendygroomes.wordpress.com. I think I need to just delete that blog because it is causing so much confusion.

    Don’t delete it yet. When I go to theintegratedheart.wordpress.com I get wendygroomes.com . I think if you try on another computer, you’ll see that too.

    This could just be your browser cache. Usually rebooting will solve it, but if that has not helped, can you try this? http://en.support.wordpress.com/browser-issues/

    NOOOOOOOO you don’t get it! and I’m really getting irritated about this.

    The problem IS theintegratedheart.wordpress.com is coming up as wendygroomes.wordpress.com.

    Wendygroomes.com is not so much the issue as the mix up of the blog addresses I mentioned before.

    This is taking way way way too long to get resolved.

    How can we make this work? Is there another “staff” person that can help me?

    Congratulations! The nameservers appear to be set up correctly for wendygroomes.com.

    More Information
    Primary Blog is Set

    wendygroomes.com is set as the primary domain for theintegratedheart.wordpress.com and will appear in the address bar when you visit the site.

    wendygroomes.com – is registered with Godaddy so you need to renew the registration with them

    wendygroomes.com is domain mapped to theintegratedheart.wordpress.com with WordPress.COM so for the domain mapping to keep working you need to also renew the domain mapping for wendygroomes.com with WordPress.COM

    theintegratedheart.wordpress.com comes up as wendygroomes.com for me – if you just changed things you migh be having problems with caching issues – try clearing your browser cache

    Also listening to Godaddy tech help can be an issue at times

    I found your long long posting very confusing – but what part of what I have posted is not what you want to happen? Or what else do you want to happen?
