$300 taken from credit card without authorisation. Need to contact wordpress

  My credit card was billed by wordpress to the tune of $300.

  Please help me to reverse this charge. I have never requested upgrades or anything of the sort.

  You must have signed up for something, or WP.com wouldn’t have your credit card details. Go to the Dashboard Store page to request a refund.

  Thanks. Found it.

  Seems someone at wordpress debited $299.00 from my credit card without permission and without me signing up for any upgrades. Trying to get hold of someone from wordpress to sort it out.

  Unless you have subscribed for auto-renew no amount would have been withdrawn from your CC. You have limited time to apply for refund, and you can do it via Dashboard.

  I have flagged this for staff attention. Posting in the forum essentially freezes the clock, so I wouldn’t worry about that.

  I have noticed that I have nothing showing in my account as being auto-renewed or even charged. Nevertheless I have the amount debited from my account and the evidence all points to wordpress being the culprit.

  This is how it appears on my statement

  WPCHRG.COM 8772733049 USA FRGN AMT: 299.00 U. S. DOLLAR

  A search brings up wordpress as the source of this charge. Hence the investigation.

  Dear Raincoaster, thanks for the help, also to jailive.

  Hopefully I can get to the bottom of it. The $299.00 debit is the exact amount for a business plan and I cannot see where I ever upgraded to that, nor did I ever receive an emails of this charge.

  If you signed up for a free trial for the business upgrade, that’s what it is. But staff WILL sort this out. They’re good about that.

  Thanks. I hope they can sort it out for me.

  I can’t recall signing up for the trial, but even if I did, I never intended to purchase. Neither did they inform me of the impending purchase, or even notify me when I eventually got billed. I just found out today, after receiving bank statement.

  Comes to almost $400 in Aussie dollars, which is no small change :)
