$300/year to upload my own theme and domain name is crazy. What are my other options?

  I simply would love to build a customized blog site – I already have a theme and my domain name so $300/year just to host it on WordPress is a little ridiculous. What are my other options?

  A lot depends on what you’re going to do with your site. If you’re going to be selling things then the Business plan might be the way to go. If it’s just going to be a “hobby” site then the Personal plan will get you your custom domain to a WordPress.com site and hopefully you can find an acceptable theme from the 100 free ones (or Premium ones).

  Otherwise, having already purchased a theme then perhaps you need to look at hosting somewhere else which will give you the theme of your choice (but no WordPress.com support if you get stuck).https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
