301 Domain Forwarding

  Hello Support,

  I have several domain names registered with other domain registrars and I like them all to redirect to my WordPress site. When I use 301 domain forwarding do I forward to http://www.my domain or mydomain? In other words do I use domain forwarding to www. or “naked” my domain. The domain name that is mapped to my WordPress blog is vefword.com. I am very confused and don’t know which is correct. Please help

  Hey Marc,

  It looks like the primary domain on your account is vefword.com. With regards to your question, WordPress.com automatically strips the www prefix and resolves to the “naked” version of your domain (vefword.com). If you setup the forwarding to vefword.com, you should be all set. You’ll want to redirect all versions of the domains (with or without www).

  Oh wow, so easy and you have put my mind at ease. In future I will setup domain forwarding to the “naked” version of my domain (vefword.com).
