Hi there,
You can use the Site Redirect upgrade. I see that you purchased that and then canceled it. What difficulties did you encounter when trying to set it up?
Also, are you looking to redirect your whole WordPress.com site’s traffic over to a specific URL at Buzzsprout, correct?
If this is the case, what’s your Buzzsprout URL?

I’m only interested in a 301 redirect and wasn’t sure if the site redirect upgrade was the same thing.
So I purchase the upgrade and enter my RSS feed in the redirect box and that will resolve my issue?

Yes, you should be able to redirect to your RSS feed. What is that URL?

So I upgraded to the redirect site plan and entered my rss url in the appropriate box but according to buzzsprout’s redirect check it isn’t working. The message I get is:
“ Oh no, you’re feed still isn’t redirected to Buzzsprout
We’re checking https://juliofromnewyorkshow.wordpress.com/category/podcasts/feed/ for a 301 redirect. Please review your settings and try again using the button below.”Please assist.

We’re checking https://juliofromnewyorkshow.wordpress.com/category/podcasts/feed/ for a 301 redirect.
Thanks for that information. I think the problem is that Buzzsprout just needs your RSS feed redirected, not your entire website. Because when checking that podcast feed category, it redirects to your Buzzsprout URL with the
/category/podcast/feed/appended to yourfeeds.buzzsprout.com/405451.rssURL which reports a 404 not found message and is why that check is erroring out.Doing a bit more research, the Site Redirect upgrade here would not be the solution to this particular issue as you only need the RSS feed redirected. Unfortunately, we don’t have any capability to just redirect an RSS feed on free WordPress.com sites.
But, since it looks like Buzzsprout has all your episodes on their service and not WordPress, what would the redirect be needed for? To update Apple Podcasts, et al? While a 301 redirect can do that automatically, you can reach out to each service to manually update the feed. Using the Apple Podcasts example, you can read how to update the feed here: https://podcasters.apple.com/support/837-change-the-rss-feed-url
Other platforms (like Spotify) have a self-service way to update the feed similar to Apple. Other platforms (like Pocket Casts) you can reach out to their support to ask to update the feed for you.
Since you don’t need that redirect, I’ll go ahead and process that refund back to you.
I hope that helps! Let us know if you need help with anything else.

Thanks so much for clarifying. I had a feeling that the site redirect wasn’t the solution but then someone said it was so I tried it again. Appreciate you correcting the information and issuing my refund. I’ll manually update the directories.
