301 redirects for pages
-
Hi everyone,
I’m looking to simplify the URLs for specific pages. For example:
- blog.company.com/events/company-festival/company-event-location to
- blog.company.com/events/festival/location
I wanted to have a 301 redirect from the old to the new page to catch any stragglers that retained the URL from before. Is this at all possible with a wordpress.com hosted blog?
Thanks!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

We cannot change permalink structure on free Hosted WordPress.com blogs.
The Title and URL of a page are related by default. When you initially type the title of your page, the page slug (used in the permalink/URL) is automatically created.

Yes indeed my first sentence above was misleading. I apologize. Does that answer you question ?

No. I’m looking to see there’s a redirect solution (PHP, JS, HTML, or otherwise) that won’t be stripped out in the HTML view. (For .org there are plugins that do this, but I realise that this doesn’t help my situation.)
Thanks for responding, though!

No is the answer and thanks to thesacredpath for making that clear.
Best wishes with your site.
