302 redirect to trailing slash?
-
I redid my daughter’s school website on wordpress.com. I mapped a new domain name and did a 301 redirect from the old domain name (ps132andyou.net) to the new (ps132ny.com) through their GoDaddy name registrar. When I run a check, the initial check produces a 302 redirect to a trailing slash before the 301 redirect. If I refresh then it corrects. But its not a cache as every time I go back, I still get that 302 popping up on first check.
I am wondering if this is something on the wordpress.com side. That 302 seems like a bad thing for search. Am I missing something? Is it better to map multiple domains and then just choose the primary?
Maybe someone can help me out.
I’d be much obliged. The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
I’m not seeing this error. Whenever I go to ps132andyou.net I am directed to ps132ny.com immediately. I do not have to refresh to get to the page. Do you still need help with this?

Thanks for getting back. The redirect is functioning correctly. When I run the old url through a redirect checker (like: http://www.redirect-checker.org/) is where the 302 pops up. Always the first try gives the 302. If you hit it again, it goes away.
Here is a screenshot on the first try:

Never seen that before.
So appreciate you lending me your time. -
I’m glad it’s up and running. I’m not sure about the error on the redirect-checker.org site. You may want to speak with their support team as what they mean. We are not seeing any issues on this end.
