3rd party theme
-
Hi all, I have hired a web developer to customize my site and it looks like I purchased the wrong type of wordpress site. She is saying that the WP managed site I purchased doesn’t allow 3rd parties to upload themes. When I tried to switch the domain names they said it is bought my some outside company, Wild West Domains, Inc.and I would need an EPP authorization code which I do not have. Can anyway please help me with this?!?!?!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there. :)
The differences between the two types of WordPress (WordPress.com and WordPress.org) is a common and an understandable point of confusion. I recommend the following guide, which provides a good overview on the two:
From the above guide, you’ll what your web developer was referring to. You do indeed need to be hosted outside of WordPress.com in order to upload custom themes.
Your domain is registered directly through WordPress.com and Wild West Domains is the name of our partner domain provider.
It sounds like you’ve already purchased your new hosting. If you’d like to transfer your domain away from us and to them, then the next step is for you to follow the guidance here to obtain your EPP code:
https://en.support.wordpress.com/transfer-domain-registration/
We’re right here if questions come up while you’re going through the above transfer process.
