    Hi WordPress Team,

    Hope you’re having a lovely day.

    I was excited about this offer that came to my email in November, but I was not ready to decide on a domain name at that time. I have just reviewed the plans and realize that I will need to sign up for Business in order to access the plugin to create a landing page.

    At $33/month this is far beyond my budget, and I’m writing to ask if you could help by extending the earlier 40% discount offer. I live on a disability income at $1300/mo in British Columbia and only made $3700 last year from my small business working with clients one-to-one. I am still in the early stages of getting my practice off the ground. Two years ago I paid quite a lot of money for someone to build my a website for my business, which I regret because though I love the site I am now tied to a platform that lacks a lot of the functionality I need to help my business grow. I still pay a monthly fee for this site and wish I had gone with WordPress from the outset! My intention would be to use the WordPress site as my blog and video teaching site, to gain subscribers for an email list and to offer packages that people can sign up for.

    Hi there!

    You do not need plan Business to create a landing page:

    https://wordpress.com/support/pages/landing-pages/.

    Plan Business allows you to add plugins, and third-party themes – if that’s what you’re interested in, then yes, you would need to upgrade.

    We run promos like this from time to time – you would be notified via email, just like the last time.
    You can use the monthly payment subscription so that you don’t need to pay for the whole year upfront.

    To do that, after adding the desired plan to the cart, you’ll want to edit the purchase:

    There, you’ll see the option to pay monthly:

    If you collect them through MailChimp, you can control that on MailChimp’s end: https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/mailchimp-block/

    The MailChimp Block is available to all sites here, even those on the Free plan.

    Thanks again. That’s all the info I need. Perhaps you could delete this forum thread? My original post was a copy from an email response to WordPress after I realized I couldn’t send you folks an email but only post in forums. Maybe a bit too personal info about me for a public forum. I appreciate that, thank you. :)
