  A category called 4001 mysteriously appeared in my categories list. I deleted it before and now it appeared again. Does anyone know what that is? Should I leave it alone?

  When did the category 4001 show up? Be sure that you haven’t tagged/categorized any of your posts or accidentally input that number in a category field, mistaking it for a different field.

  I’ve gone in and deleted it again for you. If it shows up again, let us know.

  Go to options > writing and check the setting on your “default” post category. This seems to happen when you delete the default category “uncategorized” but it is still set as the default. You can change the categories in write > post or page when you create your posts and pages.

  It showed up again after you deleted it, but I followed sacredpath’s instructions and 4001 did indeed appear as my default. So I fixed that, and deleted it again. Hopefully it will stay that way. If not, I’ll let you know. Thanks so much!
