I’m an instructor at West Los Angeles college and we have a new class for Word Press. We started the class Thursday, everybody was able to create their own account. Yesterday was our second session and we had about 4 people that could not log in. Once they clicked on log in it took them to 403 forbidden. Unfortunelty ly I had to have a couple people not work on their site. Every studen it making their own, we are all using the same public Ip.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi –
Are you using WordPress.com or the WordPress installation?
See here: https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you need help with the WordPress installation head over to wordpress.org/support/
Can you get the full error message? Either a screen shot or copy + paste it?

The class continues tomorrow and several student will loose another day.
We are all using the website and no matter what web browser and we tried different computers. This is what brings me to believe that your server blocked the public IP after so many log in attempts.

Good Morning –
We do not block IPs as it can unintentionally prevent others from accessing WordPress.com. The best way to move forward is to have each of these students get in touch with support so we can look in to their accounts directly.
Are they able to sign in to WordPress.com from a different internet connection?
Sometimes the university technical departments will add a filter for WordPress.com in their internet security. Have you been in touch with them to see if they have done this?

Here is the problem. The system didn’t even let them attempt to log in. We have 40 computers, and we have a group of 17. I had 5 students that could not log in. So I had them try other computers and as soon as they went to a computer and clicked the log in they got the error. It was not their account but your system. We did have class t Thursday and nobody was locked out. ill let you know on Tuesday if we have any other issues.

To clarify, are they getting the error as soon as they land on WordPress.com? Before entering any account credentials? If this is the case then the error is not coming from us, but rather a security filter set up with the school. Keep me posted on if there are any troubles tomorrow during class.

No, it is not from the school. They don’t get it on the landing page but when they click to sign in. If it was the school the entire page would be blocked and none of the other students would be able to sign in.

Can you tell me which operating system and version # these computers have (assuming they are all running the same one) and also which browser and version # is being used.
Second, is the error happening before or after they enter their user credentials. If it is happening before can you share the exact URL that it is occurring on. If it is happening after they enter credentials please provide the usernames affected. Usernames are public information and it is fine to share those here.
