404 error if i try to open my site

    I type in my site address (with the www prefix and i get a 404 site not published

    i type in without the www prefix and i get the site

    this has to be wrong, everywhere i read on wordpress.com forums help guides it says you dont need to type in the www prefix to the site

    Hi there,

    That 404 message is popping up because your “www” subdomain is pointed to a host outside of WordPress.com. You can fix that by heading to Store > My Domains in your dashboard here:

    https://emozionideltaplano.wordpress.com/wp-admin/paid-upgrades.php?page=domains

    Next to your domain name, you can click the “Edit Domain” button to manage your domain’s settings. Then, click the “Edit DNS” tab.

    On that page you’ll see this custom DNS record:

    http://www.emozionideltaplano.com points to 199.34.228.59

    If you delete that record (by hovering over it and clicking the trash icon that appears on the right) it will point your “www” subdomain back to WordPress.com.
