404 error page

    Hi,

    I installed WordPress in my Linux server with Apache.

    Everything was working fine including the plugin and theme’s installation. However, I was stuck in customizing the 404 page.

    I am wondering why my 404 error page is neither a default wordpress 404 page nor a theme 404 page but a very simple html with

    ‘Not Found’ and

    ‘The requested URL /123 was not found on this server. ‘

    WP.com: Unknown
    Jetpack: Unknown
    Correct account: Unknown

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to moderators and staff)

    It sounds like you’re using the open source WordPress software made by the community on WordPress.org. They’re the best people to help you with this:

    The forum you’re posting in now is for the hosting provider, WordPress.com. We use a modified version of the WordPress software, and stuff like modifying the 404 page is not possible on our version, so I’m afraid we don’t have the expertise needed to help you here :)
