404 integrated search function in pages

  • Unknown's avatar

    Bonjour,
I tested wordpress blog as much as possible with my tassiopee.wordpress.com platform test… and I was very satisfied. At the begining of the week I exported my pages to my new blog and developped it. Yesterday, I realized that my integrated search function (at the top right) does not work any more.
I searched in the different support pages and found http://en.support.wordpress.com/not-found/. I wrote a new post and now, I can make a search from the home(or front) page, and from the “search results page”. But it still does not work in all the other pages. I only get the famous 404 error message.
If someone could help me and find a solution , as an example you can try with the words “lait”, “charlotte”, “vitelotte”.
For your information, I’ve just noticed that my search function does not work also for my tassiopee.wordpress.com blog. Might it be due to the fact that I declared the blog as private after I moved it to the new one (and the new one was declared as private before I changed it as public).
    Thanks in advance,
    Au revoir.

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    My new blog : earlflosse.wordpress.com
BUT I just visited other blogs based on the structure theme and realized that there is the same problem. Isn’t it a Theme issue ?

i couldn’t understand the point, the search function works pretty well. I can search your blog with the keywords you specified and clicking the search result shows them as normal.

Phoxis, thank you for your help,
Visiting any page of my blog (not the front one), did you then type a search (lait or charlotte for example) at the top and get any result ?

I don’t see the search widget anywhere on that blog. Where is it?

  • Unknown's avatar

It is one of the Structure theme specificity… in the top right of the header…

As I requested to the support, they added a search widget in the Structure theme because I found that the integrated one in the header was not visible enough. But they did not remove the integrated one. Because it would have been confusing for visitors to have 2 search engin on the same page, I decided to keep the integrated one which has the problem described above (and it is confirmed in many “structure theme” blog I visited during the last 2 hours). I’ve just implemented the search widget the time to test it and it works perfectly well… on any page.
My suggestion is to remove the integrated one or to solve the problem.

If I want to submit my concern to the support should I get the approval of someone (super member!) in this forum before ?

LOL … :D there is no hierarchical structure here among Volunteers. The vast and overwhelming majority of all support requests are made directly to Staff and not to this peer support forum. Best wishes. :)

The problem has been reported to the support who just fixed the problem.
