404 Not Found

    I made a wordpress site yesterday through bluehost. I used the wordpress site creator and not the bluehost creator to set up the site.
    At some point during setting up the site, the main page of the site turned into 404 error. I have been troubleshooting this issue for hours, I have done every possible permutation of modifying the htaccess file and saving permalinks changes and nothing works whatsoever. At this point I am beyond frustrated.

    These forums are for support to sites created on WordPress.com. As you stated I made a wordpress site yesterday through bluehost your site is self-hosted with an external provider.
