404 Not Found Message

Hello. I can no longer preview my website in WordPress, and the direct URL is also not working. It worked before today. The site is gressaquatics.wordpress.com. Although we do own gressaquatics.com, I have purchased domain routing and we are in the process of changing DNS records to http://www.gressaquatics.com. Could this be related to the newly appearing 404 Not Found message?

Who do you pay to host that site?
gressaquatics.com Is Hosted by Google Inc.
Contact them because it’s not being hosted by WordPress.com. -

In order to map to a domain one must have an underlying .wordpress.com subdomain blog to map from. If you have registered a .wordpress.com blog you log in under the exact same username account that registered the blog and purchase a domain name by purchasing an annually renewable domain mapping upgrade for the blog. See here for mapping an existing domain http://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/map-existing-domain/
Dashboard > Store > My Upgrades is where you do the primary blog set up knowing it can take between 24 – 72 hours for domain name propagation to take place throughout the internet. You can view the DNS changes here > http://www.whatsmydns.net/ What’s important during that stage is to be patient.

Non-WordPress.com Nameservers
Although gressaquatics.com has been registered, it is not using WordPress.com nameservers. If your domain is mapped to a self-hosted site, then your configuration may be fine as currently set up. If you wish to host your site at WordPress.com, you will need to update your nameservers as I explained above.

Thank you timethief. I already purchased the domain mapping. I sure with that the client had let me handle the domain registration too, because I would have done it all through WordPress, where the domain name itself would have been included as part of the Premium WordPress that we bought. In any case, it looks like I need to go into Google and change the name servers, correct? After waiting for that to take effect, will I then be able to preview the site again? I don’t know why that stopped working…
