404 Page Cannot be Found Error

I seem to be having a problem with my blog.

The main index page loads absolutely fine, but when I try to click on an article or to view the comments on an article I’m greeted with a lovely, yet annoying 404 error message. I’ve checked the Dashboard and the posts are definitely in there. Does anyone know what the problem could be?

I have experience the same problem! Yikes. Would love to hear from someone on this. My fear: Lost everything. Yikes.

Same here.
Can edit the pages tho so don’t worry, it’s a glitch which will hopefully be fixed soon.
I didn’t even lose the comment I was writing.

As you guys already noticed, this is already fixed. It was a problem with the link structure. It was broken then fixed on the code side. Sorry about that!

Google stopped indexing my website for the last 2 days. I have been deleting pages because I wanted to remove irrelevant content. I just read the Google Guidelines and they suggest creating a 404 error page to inform users where they can go to find the information or to leave a nice note. Meanwhile, I do not understand the tech of creating a a 404 page. I see that this can be done on WordPress.org. Can we do this on WordPress.com?

All 404 pages are built into our themes and “no” we wordpress.com bloggers cannot create our own 404 pages or edit those that the theme supplies. Whenever we delete a page the 404 message appears automatically. Deleting pages and breaking links is something that we try to avoid doing. As fare as Google goes all indexing issues are between the blogger and the search engine, we cannot help with that.
