404 Page not on WordPress Backend
-
I went to update my blog post content which created a new URL for my post. All my content was once living here:
/2020/09/29/financial-advisor-salary-how-much-do-financial-advisors-make/
and was republished to:
/2020/11/04/financial-advisor-salary-how-much-do-financial-advisors-make/Normally wordpress automatically adds a 301 redirect from the previous URL to the new URL, but this time, it 404’d the /2020/09 post. The previous post is also no longer in my backend so I cant manual implement a 301 redirect.
The /2020/09 post was ranking for a lot of keywords and now my consumers are being presented with a 404 page and bouncing!
How can I find the previous URL (/2020/09) so I can redirect it and retain my users?

Hi there,
I do not see any sites under your @rubyb07 WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/sites.
Is it possible you created your site under a different login? Is it the case that you are using another provider like GoDaddy, Bluehost, Hostgator, etc. instead? What is the URL of the site you are needing help with?
Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

Hey Jerry,
Sorry, the site is actually https://saragrillo.com/ . Thanks for taking a look into this!

Hi there,
Your site is not hosted on WordPress.com, but using the open source WordPress.org software at another hosting provider. We’re only able to help with sites hosted on our servers at WordPress.com.
Please ask the WordPress.org community for advice instead. They provide support for the version of WordPress you’re using:
