410 permanently deleted
-
Hello WordPress.com Forums,
I am currently going to delete old posts/content from my http://www.miamitreecutters.com site. How do I notify Google of a permanent 410 delete for the old URLs? I know Google has a temporary removal tool. Unfortunately, this is not permanent removal.
Please bare in mind, I am using wordpress.com Thank you in advance

Hi there!
Please note we’re not experts with how Google search works, so you may need to contact Google support or post on their support forum for more help.
I did some research on this and found the following:
If you want to permanently remove URLs from Google, all you need to do is remove the actual content from your site. Search engines like Google will eventually remove the content from their search result pages when they see that the source content is no longer live or is returning a 404 not found error code.
See this page for more information: https://support.google.com/webmasters/answer/9689846?hl=en#make_permanent
You can also use this tool to remove URLs. While it does say it’s meant for temporarily removing URLs, note that if the source URL is no longer live, there won’t be anything for Google to index and show on search results.
So my suggestion would be to use the removal tool to remove the URLs and then delete the old posts/content from your site. That should be a good starting point.
Hope that helps!
