  how do I update

  WordPress.ORG installs require updating by their owners. WordPress.COM hosted blogs are updated by Staff.

  Sorry but that site you are referring to is not hosted WordPress.COM and those are the only sites we provide support for here. We cannot use woocommerce on WordPress.COM hosted blogs. You need a WordPress.ORG install to use it.

  WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

  If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.

  We are not understanding the above reply. We have a wordpress hosted site (quartzaso.com) and we want to make sure it is upgraded to 4.1.2 to address the vulnerability but we cannot go to dashboard, updates like the tech note tells us. We do not even see an updates option. How do we check the version of our site so we can confirm we have the correct one?

  Please read this comparison so your do not confuse free hosted WordPress.COM blogs with WordPress.ORG software installs.

  Staff do all upgrades of WordPress.com software for us. We bloggers do nothing.

  WordPress.COM hosted blogs are updated by Staff.

  You cant’ updated the version here on WordPress.com

  And it’s not necesary: We all have the latest version here.
