429 error showing on password protected posts

  Hi – we have a series of password protected posts on our site, however, when a user tried to input the password to access the post, all they get is a page with a 429 error. We’ve tried disabling all our plugins but don’t really know how / where / why this is happening. Any troubleshooting guidance is appreciated.
