I live in Nigeria and am a nigerian, my site hit is now 453 000 plus hit within 10 months. I can’t pay for upgrades simply because Nigeria is not listed in the payment countries. What can I do. Am a passionate wordpress.com blogger and I don’t want to switch my wordpress.com blog to self hosted cos I already have a self hosted site on wordpress.org.
Please I need an advice. The site is unilagadmissionsguide.wordpress.com
I already know through my search that nigerian has been blocked due to fraudulent activities. But there should be a way out to separate the sheep from the goats now! Please check out my blog and see my works so far. Thanks
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

I won’t agree with you. How come I cannot pay with my visa or master card bank card? But meanwhile I can use those cards on other websites. I know PayPal is not accepted from Nigerians.
I would have love to try bitcoin but I don’t know how to do processing. I have tried to go through the procedures but still I don’t understand.
Am a passionate wordpress.com blogger and am sure you will agree with me if you go through my blog. Currently my blog hits ranges from 60 to 80,000 hits monthly.
It’s not fare if you guys don’t provide a means of upgrade for me to fully exploit my site and also get some benefits in return.
WordPress.com currently runs ads on my site and they earn all the money from my traffic. It’s not fare at all….

Below are the only accepted means of payment.
WordPress.com uses PayPal as the payment processor, and as such, can only accept payment from countries they support: https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/
If for whatever reason, they have chosen to block payment from your country, you will not be able to purchase an upgrade here unless you have a source of payment outside of your country.
In addition to major credit cards Mastercard, VISA, American Express, Discover, and PayPal https://www.paypal.com/worldwide/ WordPress.com can accept echecks and some debit cards.
The debit card must have a VISA or Mastercard symbol on it, and should work just like a credit card when selecting the VISA or Mastercard option on the payment form, even though it’s a debit card.
More about echecks here:
https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/helpcenter/article/?solutionId=13054&topicID=11500008&m=TCIWordPress.com also accept Bitcoin for payment of certain upgrades ( bitcoin cannot be used for domain and premium theme purchases) – you can learn more here: http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/pay-another-way-bitcoin/

I don’t always like Timethief replies to this question. The reason been because its default like. You cant be giving me the same reply you give to everyone. Of course I have already read similar replies before posting my inquiries. I need someone who will reason with me and feels my pain. Timethief please I beg you don’t reply me again.
My debit card both visa and master card I have tried both. Nigeria is not listed among the payment country too.
I prefer rootjosh’s comment He seems to understand what am going through!
Any way I will keep blogging on wordpress.com cos I love this platform. But it’s highly unfair if you guys don’t provide simple payment platform for me to pay for my upgrades.

Yes indeed I gave you the exact same response I post for everyone and that would be because no one here is special. The same rules apply to us all and in this case it’s PayPal, that will not place your country on the approved list for obvious reasons.
Nigerian scams, also called 419 scams, are a type of fraud and one of the most common types of confidence trick. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nigerian_scam

Thanks for reminding me of Nigerian 419 scams….but next time emulate rootjosh kind of response alright? And by the way I told you I was not looking for your opinion.

Timethief pls allow someone else who has better contribution to comment on this thread. You can’t afford to be repeating yourself like this up and down nah.

For God sake I blog full time and I expected you to understand my pain. I understand am not above the rule but at least you should be sensitive.

ozovehe101,
Ignoring the unrelated argument, the answer is correct. Paypal is our payment processor and due to the amount of fraudulent transactions coming out of your country, they (and many other banks) will not process payments from Nigeria.
If you do not wish to use bitcoin, the best option is probably to ask a friend in another country to purchase the upgrade for you.
