Every time I try to empty it, or delete it the page goes into recovery mode, or well this is new, as I type a 503 error. I’m just trying to empty out the folder and after an hour… well I’m cranky now (laugh) Help Please. I have the page set at view for 999 which is max so I knew it was going to take a while, but its been more than an hour now and I’ve maybe gotten rid of 2k.

I have it down to 37,065 now (laugh) all the comments are in the trash I just can’t empty it. Been slowly whittling it down. If it’s possible for you to empty it out by all means, please do so.
I have tried from Firefox, Chrome, Edge and my phone to delete everything in the trash with no luck. It either goes to a 503 error, says there is something wrong with the site or just does nothing at all :(

Your trash has been emptied. :)
In the future, I recommend leaving the spam comments where they were in the Spam subsection. Spam comments there are automatically cleared as soon as they reach 15 days of age.

Hi, yeah the server might give a 503 error if you try to delete too many items yourself. We don’t really have a way to prevent that.
But to help you not have to worry about bulk deleting spam, we automatically do it for you when each comment is 15 days old.
Is that not working?

They are currently in the trash. Macmanx said he emptied it, but… its not empty, I’ve been slowly whittling it down. He did let me know it would do that though, but since it’s in trash already, well it’s a lot.

The trash says 0 here. Are we looking at the same page? Could you send a link?
Also, if it’s not a huge rush would you mind just leaving them there for 15 days to see if they empty out automatically?

They had been in there for more than a year. Macmanx had said If I had left them in the spam folder they would have deleted after 15 days but at some point in the past I put them in trash (also more than a year ago).
