5.5 problems

  • Unknown's avatar

Auto updated to 5.5. I then updated the themes as I was told to do. Now I cannot post a reply to comments … error message says I am not logged in. As well I cannot edit my blog … error message says I am not logged in. Also, many of the photos on my blog appear “squashed” side to side, when I look at them in my admin account AND by my readers. As well, when I “back-arrow” my admin account sometimes automatically logs me out. As well, when I really do try to log out, I sometimes get an error message saying “something went wrong” and then I’m asked if I want to log out. Help.
    site is travelswithtowhee.com

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

AND … I have a blog post scheduled, but I cannot open a Preview of it … it says “generating preview” and just spins and spins.

Have found a way around the inability to reply, but I sure would like to be able to reply within the blog post itself the same as I’ve done for years.

And NOW when I try the Preview … I get an error message saying Page Not Found. What’s going on? Maybe 5.5 or maybe themes … those are the only things that have changed since yesterday.

AND … I cannot add another page … it won’t save. Please help!

    Hi Ann,

I’m afraid that your site travelswithtowhee.com is not hosted with WordPress.com. It is a site using the open-source WordPress software (from WordPress.org) but hosted on BlueHost.

Because WordPress.com and WordPress.org are two entirely separate entities, we cannot access files or data for sites that are hosted elsewhere, so we can only assist with sites that are hosted on our servers. You can read more about the differences between WordPress.org software and WordPress.com here:
    https://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

You can look for help at the community forums here:
    https://wordpress.org/support/forums/

http://wordpress.org/support/ is also a great resource for sites using the open-source WordPress.org software.

    Best,

Thanks Born. Will pursue this at wordpress.org. One wonders why I am required to log in with a wordpress.com account then, which pops up about once a month. Sigh, wish I knew what you know. Thanks.
