5 second survey `prize` – is it safe to click on link?
-
Hi all,
I got a message today for the first time since opening my account with WP about the chance to fill in a 5 second survey
congratulations you have won the prize...... etc. It came up when I was editing some posts from the dashboard. I have checked the forum to see if anyone else had any kind of issue with this survey and found a single query, from a user called Niqnaq but that was a whole year ago. There was a question about what browser he was using. The browser Im using right now is Safari which I usually use to go into WordPress. Sometimes I use firefox which I also have on my Mac OS. There was no explanation as to why this survey comes up though and it wasresolved` without anyone explaining what it was. Is it safe to click on this 5 second survey hyperlink? Thanks in advanceThe blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Excuse the strange editing. It seems to happen anytime I put in apostrophes or quotation marks.

Would it be possible to upload a screenshot so we can have a look?
Here’s a guide on how to make a screenshot, if you’re not sure: http://en.support.wordpress.com/make-a-screenshot/
You can upload the screenshot in your Media Library and then post a link so I can see it. Thanks.

It sounds like it is the WordPress.COM survey thing – had it happen to me a few months back – one question 5 or 6 seconds – something about would I recommend WP.com to a friend – I think I saw a response about this from staff-blorbo a while back – ask a lot of quick single questions – don’t annoy the users too much but with now several million users a small sample size but done on a regular basis will give an indicator of trends that can be very useful

Ah. I remember that happening a few times, but I don’t recall any prize. Wonder where my tee shirt is?

I do believe I know exactly what you mean.
Congratulations, you win the prize! The chance to take our 5 second survey :)
How likely is it that you would recommend WordPress.com to your friends, family, or colleagues? (0: Not a chance, 10: Absolutely)See here > https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/a-message-on-my-dashboard-is-it-legit?replies=11#post-440960

yes @TT – many moving parts in a recommendation – I answered yes – but I am also working with a friend that wants “a web site” for a non-profit health clinic overseas – we are working through just what they want to do with the “web site” and all the rest – I told them that my first thought was to put it here, in part because I understand this system a bit and a lot of things are taken care of by the staff so once the site is set up it is easy to maintain – they are still working through the want do they want to do – then we will sit down and go over the list of requirements and go from there

@auxclass
IMHO it’s a 5 second fob off deliberate constructed to produce positive results for bragging purposes, rather than meaningful respones. As you can tell I took it as an insult to my intelligence.@korubettoshaiku
You’re welcome.
