500 – Internal server error for a client website

    I was trying to update a client’s website which it hosted on WordPress and was trying to update to the much recent WordPress version 4.7.4, which would never complete unpacking after waiting for hours.
    I stopped it and then tried to update a couple of the plugin, then all of a sudden I cannot log back into this clients wordpress account, I get the 500 – Internal server error.

    I cleared the cookies from the cache ad restarted then still nothing.

    I tried to ready online instructions to fix this and one of the steps is to FTP a file, but FTP with FileZilla will not connect me this the clients server using the same username and password for logging in.

    The 2 problems:
    1. 500 – Internal sever error for http://www.daniellemcclean.com
    2. Not able to FTP into client’s website.

    That is a wordpress.ORG software error.That site is not on our WordPress.COM servers. You are posting to the wrong support forum.

    WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different username accounts, logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums.
