500 Internal Server Error – Fresh WordPress Transfer
-
I’m having an issue after copying a fresh install of wordpress over to a clients hosting server (fatcow, yes i’m aware of how terrible their service is, lol).
My client has a standard html/css site currently running, and they had me develop an ecommerce addition using wordpress and woocommerce. Once the site was developed and functioning properly I added a new directory inside of the root of the exisiting site (the folder is called “store”) and copied over the entire root of the newley created wordpress site.
After migrating the exisiting database to the server and copying over the site files to the new “store” directory on the server, I tried to access the site, only to be presented with the good ol’ “500 Internal Server Error”.
I did some research and followed all of the steps listed on this page (https://www.akeebabackup.com/support/akeeba-backup-3x/14539-500-internal-server-error-after-installing.html) as well as this page (
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-internal-server-error-in-wordpress/) all to no avail. Also I changed the site url in wp-config.php using these instructions (https://codex.wordpress.org/Changing_The_Site_URL).Any help getting this resolved would be GREATLY appreciated.
Thanks,
Brad
