500 Internal Server Error when activating theme.
-
Hello Guys! Hope you’re having a good day!
Days ago I purchased Elegance Theme from YeahThemes! I uploaded the theme file via ftp and when I activated it, it made my wordpress dashboard to crash.
I had to manually change the theme via Plesk and my dashboard came back. So it’s a problem with the theme.
I contacted the theme developers and they asked me for my credentials but it’s been 2 days since and I haven’t had any answer.I was wondering if there’s a way to fix it myself, what could the problem with this theme be?
Any suggestions? The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, you are in the wrong forum.
This forum is for blogs/sites hosted by WordPress.comWordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and different http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
And you should ask in the WordPress.org forum.
http://wordpress.org/support/ -
http://ginettelopez.wordpress.com/ is a WordPress.COM hosted blog and we cannot install any third party themes into any WordPress.COm hosted blogs.
The only themes we can use on WordPress.com hosted blogs are licensed and adapted to run on our multiuser software the themes are found here http://wordpress.com/themes/ and in your dashboard at > Appearance > Themes
There is no FTP access to free hosted WordPress.com blogs for security reasons and we cannot:
upload any third party themes,
create child themes,
create our own themes,
edit templates,
create own own layouts,
or use stylesheets from other themes.Relevant support docs:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/themes/adding-new-themes/There is no upgrade you can purchase here that changes that reality.
WordPress.org offers free software that you can install on a web server. You can create themes, upload and install themes and plugins, run ads, and edit the database, etc. If you want FTP access and to install plugins or third party themes into a site then you will have to hire a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and set up your own WordPress.org install. To read all the differences go to http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/

Also note that you are reporting a WordPress.ORG error message. We provide support only for sites hosted by WordPress.COM and if you can upload third party themes then that site is not one of them.
WordPress.COM and WordPress.ORG are completely separate and have different logins, features, run different versions of some themes with the same names, and have separate support documentation and separate support forums. Read the differences here http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
If you don’t have a username account at WordPress.ORG click http://wordpress.org/support/ and register one on the top right hand corner of the page that opens, so you can post to the support forums there.
Resetting your WordPress.ORG password http://codex.wordpress.org/Resetting_Your_Password
