500 Internal Service Error due to Corrupt .htaccess file

    I added the following line at the end of my .htaccess file using the WP Htaccess Editor:

    rewrite ^/fr/wp-login.php /wp-login.php break;

    Now, my website does not work and shows me the 500 internal service error white page. I tried using FileZilla to gain FTP access in order to fix the .htaccess file but my credentials are not working.
