503 error prevents access to site

Someone told me my site is down. I have no idea what the problem is. I fear its been down for a few weeks, as my last notification said no visits were recorded. How do I find out the problem and resolve it?

The reply some years ago was about SSL. This has long been in place and is still active according to the hosts. So presumably there is some other reason i can’t access the website. Any more thoughts as to what is happening?
