503 Service Unavailable, when importing WP XML

  Hi all,

  I get the following error when I try to import and upload a WordPress XML (11.4MB) file.

  503 Service Unavailable
  The server is temporarily busy, try again later! Powered By LiteSpeed Web Server
  Lite Speed Technologies is not responsible for administration and contents of this web site!

  Anyone can advise me on this?

  The file is just too big that it is timing out. Maybe this thread will give you some ideas. I had to break my backup file into several smaller ones to get them imported. It was a pain, but a file that big seems to not work with wordpress.com…..

  Thanks, but in WordPress is says “(Maximum size: 100m )”! If it cannot handle even 11 MB, than is should just say 10 M or less.. or 5 MB?

  Do anyone know of any good export to XML plugin that can allow me to select blogs to export? For example all blogs from my “Travel” category?

  Send in a feedback to staff about the 100m. I am just speaking from experience as it would continually timeout until I got the files small enough to import. Maybe they will have a suggestion on this. Send in a feedback through your admin, the “support” tab in these forums or an email to support at wordpress dot com. Hopefully they can get this resolved for you.

  Looks like it’s being set from the value for the largest file able to be uploaded.
