60-Day Domain Lock
-
Hello,
I need help tranferring my domain from wordpress.com to Bluehost. Unfortunately, I can’t transfer my domain because my domain is locked for 60 days.
Can you remove the 60-day lock so I can transfer it to Bluehost.
Thanks.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hey there, I noticed you changed contact information recently. If you did not opt-out of locking at that point, there’s no way for us to undo the lock.
But you can still point the domain to Bluehost if you’d like, so it will work there, then transfer again after 60 days (around the end of the year.)
I’d recommend avoiding any contact info changes until then.
Hoping this helps!

Hello,
Since I didn’t opt-out of the 60-day lock. There’s nothing you can do to unlock my domain until the 60 days?
I just have to wait out the 60 days?
Could you help me point to Bluehost? I think I already did. But I’m not sure.
In the meantime, can I have a subdomain on bluehost, so my website will work? Or is there nothing I can do until Dec 20? Do I need to buy an entirely new domain in the meantime?

I’ve tried that and it hasn’t worked. Do I need to wait a few hours until the changes save?
Is there anything else I can do to get my domain unlocked before the 60 days?

Hi @stephaniebalancingelephants
To clarify, when you are on this page you are putting a checkmark in the box here before you save your changes?
It can be easy to miss so I wanted to be sure to point it out. If you are catching that, but still finding that your domain is locked, please let us know so we can take a closer look on the registry’s side of things, thanks!

Hi Jerry,
Yes, I’ve done this and nothing has changed. I’ve opted out and save the contact info and my domain is still locked for 60-days.
Would you be able to look into the registry for me and see what the issue is?
Thank you for your help!

Sorry, I think we left out a step.
You’ll need to change the email address, make sure the opt-out is checked, and then save.
It won’t trigger if the email address remains the same.
