$96 to center align caption text?
-
Hi,
I have had my same site theme now for many years and although it has shortcomings, I have never had an issue centering the caption text under my images. Posting yesterday, I show nicely centered text under images when I use the editor/preview but going live shows the copy justified to the left and no amount of clicking on the center justification button fixes this.
My previous posts, with the same theme, don’t have this problem.
The only difference between now and my last post is the new editor WordPress “upgraded” us with.Research tells me that I can adjust the CSS code and viola! It’s fixed. But I cannot do that unless I jump to Premium Membership, which is $96/year. I cannot justify a $96 fee just so I can center my caption text. It’s not like I’m asking for some advanced CSS code adjustments, I just need a simple text justification. How is that not able to be done within the editor without upgrading memberships?
I’m hoping someone here can shine some useful light onto this topic.

I tend to just add an image and write any caption text for that image with the Classic Block (rather than the Image Block) as there are functioning justify buttons there.
PS: You already have a paid plan here so you either have a Premium plan with access to CSS or you have a Personal plan making upgrading cost much less than $96. -
Thanks, magicrobot.
I’ll play around with the Classic Block and see if that fixes anything. As for my plan, I’m actually on the free plan, so Premium would cost $96 for the annual fee. However, I wouldn’t mind ads removed so upgrading to the Personal plan isn’t a bad idea. But, a Personal plan does not provide access to allowing one for personalized CSS code. That only is attained with a Premium membership. Hence my title of $96 to center captions (unless your Classic Block work around fixes things).

Ah so you have a free plan and just continue to pay for the custom domain as a legacy upgrade? That confused me as that option isn’t available for new sites or for sites created in the last two or three years.

Correct. I’m still on the free plan but due to this situation, I’ve been alerted to the fact that my site is littered with ads, which is not a good look so I am fine with upgrading to the Personal plan. But I’d rather not jump to Premium as this is just a fun, personal, hobby blog.
