    hallo,

    i am using twenty ten theme,

    i would like to put a different header image in a given page, i know i could use “featured image”, but it doesn´t allow to put an animated gif as a header. the animation just wont work.

    so i´d like to put an animated gif as a header using css, ONLY in this page:

    http://en.davidfernandez.org/music/

    is that possible?

    thanks a lot.

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    To change an element on just one page using CSS, the first thing you should do is look at the body tag to see if there are any classes specific to that particular page.

    In your case, the http://en.davidfernandez.org/music/ page using the Twenty Ten theme has a class of “page-id-47” on the “body” tag. I found that by looking at the page source. To change out just that image, you can use some CSS like this:

    .page-id-47 div#wrapper.hfeed div#header div#masthead div#branding img.attachment-post-thumbnail {
    display: none;
    }
    .page-id-47 div#wrapper.hfeed div#header div#masthead div#branding {
    width: 940px;
    height: 198px;
    background: url(http://englishdavidfernandez.files.wordpress.com/2010/08/eccecellocabecera3.gif);
    }

    @seignsimply
    I have noticed that both the blog linked to the WordPress.com username and the one the link is provided to are “powered by WordPress.ORG blogs”

    oops! Sorry about the typo in your username. I meant to type designsimply

  • Unknown's avatar

    :) it is! No worries, it’s an easy-to-mistype name.

    Thanks for being gracious. :)

    This support forum is only for those who have free hosted WordPress.COM blog and who have purchased the custom design upgrade for free hosted WordPress.COM blogs. In the future you must post to the WordPress.ORG support forums to receive support for WordPress.ORG installs.

    Thanks back at ya. :)

    Oh wait! The link to their username is WordPress.org, but the link in the original post is WordPress.com: http://en.davidfernandez.org/music/

    Also, (random side note) the music is way cool. @3delamadrugada, it’s beautiful.

    This is what I see in the footer:
    ©david fernández 2010. All rights reserved. CSS code by Luke Hall. Powered by WordPress. Twenty Ten theme.

    Note there is no live link to WordPress.COM and the removal of that link isn’t allowed so that’s what mislead me.

    Ah, I see! It would be better to have WordPress.com in the footer. But at the very least, it needs a capital P in WordPress!

  • Unknown's avatar

    lol :D even VIP bloggers are not allowed to remove that link.

    May I remove the ‘Blog at WordPress.com’ credit in my site’s footer?
    Although the Custom Design Upgrade certainly grants you the capability to hide the credit from your site’s footer, you are not permitted to do so. Even our VIP bloggers are required to maintain the credit. http://en.support.wordpress.com/custom-design/#frequently-asked-questions

    oh! first of all to thank you designsimply!!

    you´ve made my day. i appreciate a lot your help. a lot.
    i hope you have a nice day. i am having it.
    thanks, thanks!

    timethief, have i been a bad guy? this is a one year old issue:

    https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/custom-footer?replies=25

    what made me mad one year ago was that i was feeling like in school “you can not do this… it´s not allowed, so we won´t tell you anymore. it can´t be done”.

    right now i am told that not even Very Important People are allowed to do what i have done, so… what the hell am i doing?!

    after being told how to do it (you can read it in that old post), and being aware that it was not truth that it wasn´t possible (as i had been told). i did remove the logo, not the “blog at wordpress”. as logos have always hurted me.

    and i pay for my upgrades nearly 100€ a year.

    but ok, i will put back a link to wordpress (although capital letters do also hurt me…)

    right now i am in a hurry going to work. but i will do it.

    i know i am being monitored!!

    thanks one more time seignsimply… X]
    i mean designsimply!!

    A clarification on the footer credits was made by staff about 6 month ago perhaps, but from what I understand it has always been against the rules to remove the credits.

  • Unknown's avatar

    i´ve put back the link to WordPress.com in my footer,
    but i never did remove the credits from it (wordpress blog and twenty ten theme were always there), just the icon/logo.

    cheers
