A Bizarre Issue With Comments

Hi I m sorry to bother you all but I have noticed a very odd and bizarre issue where some of my comments on various blogs have been randomly disappearing without the owner of the blog or the site actually having any involvement, so i’m not sure if it’s systemic issues or if it’s malicious interference but this mysterious issue only started happening recently.
The comments would be successfully posted to the website or blog as a visible comment for hours, and even in some cases responded to by the owner of the site, but then the comment would mysteriously vanish. This issue is not with my blog specifically but an issue I have noticed happening with some of my comments on other blogs and it is extremely strange. I am not sure if there is some hacking or malicious interference, or some kind of systemic issue involved with this but it is very strange and I should probably bring it to your attention.

This can be difficult for us to look into since it may not be a site hosted on WordPress.com. Do you have a URL or two for sites where you have seen this issue? We are happy to take a closer look and see if anything stands out.

Hi, good to hear from you. I incredibly regret not responding sooner; I did not realize that this topic had a reply.
I don’t think that I remember all of them (this situation has not happened on many sites, or often) but I noticed it occurring alot recently on these sites:

Icould not see anything specific about all those sites, but it can be the case that if your comment is held for moderation you will see it briefly on the site, but this is a preview that only you can see. If you were to return to the page and the comment has not been approved (since you left it) then it would not appear.
For shareastorynow.news.blog I see there are several comments that are in the moderation queue (including a comment you have left) and they have not been approved, so the site owner likely still needs to act on those. This also sounds like it lines up with what you are seeing since your comment preview has disappeared, but the comment itself will not appear until the site owner approves it.
Sadly we are not able to act on your behalf here, since only the site owner can manage and approve comments, and that is not something that we can override.

Yes I am well aware of what a comment-preview is and I had made sure to not mistake the preview that was shown, with a comment that was officially approved.
Many of the comments were actually posted in the comment-section of the websites as approved comments and were there for hours as publically visible comments, and me and the owners of site themselves even posted back-and-forth responses to some of the comments in question, but at some point, some vanished from some sites and others seemingly became unapproved on others.
The comment I made on the shareastorynow.news.blog was actually a public comment that the owner replied to and it had received a couple of sub back-and-forth responses from our interactions and then, all of a sudden, the main comment became “unapproved” with much of the conversation-history seemingly deleted which is very strange, and that latest incident is what raised a red-flag for me.
So I guess there might be some funny business happening on their end, perhaps maybe more than one person somehow has access to their account or influence over it, or it could actually be honest mistakes and user error, which as you noted, aren’t things that you all can do anything about because it’s up to the individual site Admins to manage their own personal websites independently. I will have to bring these issues to their attention directly, as you have advised, so that they can do their own assessments.
