a block or something that will allow me to click on an image on a page then go to an enlargement on another age

  On some websites I see that there are a large number of images in column format, I can click on one and it will go to a page with that image enlarged (and possibly other views of it or colors) and with more detailed information about it. Does WordPress offer any function that will do this?

  It sounds like you are referring to image carousel?:

  If so, you can accomplish this by linking image via the Gallery block:

  https://wordpress.com/support/wordpress-editor/blocks/gallery-block/#linking

  You can link images via the media file which will load images in a full-screen carousel.
